Knit camera case

Here is a pattern for a cabled camera case that I knit:

Camera Case Pattern

Worsted weight yarn - I used some left over Caron Simply Soft in Pale Green.
Size 8 DPNs

Gauge: 20 sts and 30 rows = 4 inches in stockinette.

Finished dimentions: 3 1/4" X 5 1/4" laid flat.
(My camera is 2 1/2" X 3 1/2" X 1 1/4". This pattern could easily be adapted to fit any size camera, either by changing yarn weight or needles, adding cable repeats, etc.)

Special Stitches: C8F = slip next 4 sts onto cable needle and hold at front of work, knit next 4 sts from left-hand needle, then knit sts from cable needle

CO 18 sts.
Knit in st st for 5 rows.
Place on st holder.

CO 18 sts
Knit in st st for 6 rows. CO 2. Knit 18 sts from st holder. CO 2.
Join to begin working in the round.
Row 7: K3, *P2, K8* three times, P2, K5
Row 8-10: Repeat Row 7
Row 11: K3, P2, C8F , P2, K8, P2, C8F, P2, K5
Work row 7 8 more times, then work row 11.
Repeat these 9 rows twice more.
Repeat row 7 four more times.
Bind off all sts using 3-needle bind off.

CO 4 sts. Work I-cord until handle is desired length. BO all sts.

Finishing:
Fold stockinette flaps in, sew along cast on edge. Work I-cord through the sewn part, tie ends together. Weave in ends.
